Anniversary Celebration

Is it really Monday once again? Why do they always take longer then other days? Well with Monday here already I will catch you up on my weekend. Friday night I met my mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunt and 2 cousins from Mississippi at my grandparents house then we all went out to dinner at Blackwoods in Two Harbors. We had great food and great service. After that I went and hung out with a bunch of friends. Saturday was my my mom and dad's anniversary and also my grandparents 50th anniversary. So all of the kids and grand kids had a party for them and invited their friends. We had tons of food and a great time catching up with relatives that I hardly get to see so all in all it was a great time. It was also Jessica's birthday so I went out and celebrated with her Saturday night. On Sunday I went to my grandparents again for leftovers and to spend time with the fam damily. Tara and Charlie called me and we went out on the boat for a couple of hours in Two Harbors. it was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L out on the lake! The water was like glass and the sun was shining, perfect weather for a hang over cure :) We only had one keeper though... I was reeling in a HUGE salmon (we think) and it got within feet of the net and all of a sudden SNAP it was gone! I was so upset, all that battle for nothing. I then resorted to talking to the fish to try to convince them that if they let us catch them that we will be nice to them, but no such luck. We still enjoyed the sun and the glass like water! :) That is my weekend summed up so check out my pics!

Where oh where has The Din been?!

Well I clearly have not kept up on blogging so here is a recap of what has been going on since...well ummm... APRIL! Sheesh what a slacker!

*May 8th, got my own apartment and moved in!!! Yay me! (I will post more pics later, I haven't taken too many since I moved in, but I plan on doing before and after post once I get more pictures on the walls and get my bedroom set)

*June 2nd, Death Cab For Cutie Concert. Tara, Tony, Grace and I went to the Orpheum Theatre in the cities and saw DCFC up close and personal, and i kid you not we were 3 rows away from the stage, pit seats!!!! Way to go Tone on getting us those tickets! The concert was awesome, we all had a lot of fun! We stayed overnight and went shopping the next day.




*June 22nd, Jack Johnson concert with Tara! We were on a concert kick, still waiting to see who we will go to next! Maybe Colie Cailat!?! :) Tara and I drove to Somerset WI to see Jack Johnson... It was beautiful out, tons of people and nasty beer, what more could one ask for? haha We had a great time and plan to go back to Somerset to go camping and tube down the river!!!

So all in all, I have been beyond busy!! I will try to keep up to date from now on but I am not making any promises. I have hundreds of pictures (as you can tell) so I will keep posting pictures throughout the summer so you can at least see what i'm doing! :)

Well hello, I don't have much new going on in my life. Work, school, drama is all the same! But my goal for the next 2 weeks is to find an apartment! YAY now the big question is, do I want to live in TH or Duluth.... hmmm! Closer to work and school or closer to friends and family! I am leaning towards friends and family :) I will keep you posted, even though you will know before I post on here what I decide because most likely I still have the same 4 readers :)

I'm bbbaaaccckkk!!!

Wow, where has this month and a half gone?!? I figured it was about time to start blogging again, even though my life is rather boring right now! So here is an update of what’s been going on in TheDin’s wonderful world! To start you all off I am back living at my parents house now, I know… right, I am staying in my brothers old room and he is staying in mine, with my bed, yeah about that… so I am sleeping on this small couch that I use to have in my old room, it's like a futon, but the arms fold down and that’s it. Guarantee every night I either half fall off, fully fall off, or lose all my blankets, not what I would call luxury living. But after all it is a roof over my head, rent free and not to mention my mom is a GREAT cook! And with home cooked dinners, means LEFT OVERS FOR LUNCHES!!! YUM! Other than the few minor details like having no privacy, all my stuff packed in boxes, sharing a bathroom with 3 other adults, so far it isn’t all that bad. Ask me in about a month and I might tell you something different though :)

My plans now are to pay off some bills that I still owe on for my knee surgery and to get a place in Two Harbors by myself. I thought long and hard about getting a place in Duluth seeing that I work there and go to school there, but living alone I don’t think I could do it in Duluth. I need to be close to my friends and family! So I plan on having my own place by June 1st. I already have furniture lined up thanks to Gina! And all that I need now is a table and chairs. My mom has an old set that she said I could sand and paint. I thought that would be cool, but no idea what colors! Any suggestions?? As for everything else, I think I am set on. WAIT I don’t have a bed!!! That will be my next purchase. I can’t wait to sleep in a nice soft, large, comfy bed again! I have slept in beds since I lived at home but hotel room beds just don’t cut it!

Now on to what I have been up to in my spare time! Between working 40 hours a week and going to class, I have been tanning with Tara a few times, I now look like I went on vacation, it’s just an illusion, but a good one :) heck with the weather we have been having I enjoy the heat from the tanning beds! Did you know exactly a year ago it was 76 out! WHERE IS THAT WEATHER?! I also have been going to some Hill-X races with Kiera and the rest of the gang! We always seem to have a blast together, minus when the boys are on pain killers and get cranky haha! See some pics below…! My goal for this spring is to get in shape and start jogging, now that my knee is fixed why not try to mess it up again huh?? That is just one of the many plans I have for myself this spring, but we will have to see how long they last! But that’s about it for what I’ve been doing lately, I live a pretty boring life now but I seem to be constantly busy so I can’t complain too much, so wish me luck and I will keep my 4 readers posted as often as I feel time, even though you know what I do with my life but I know it’s still fun to read my boring blog :)

Heart Day O-Eight

Thursday night Tara, Charlie, Tony and I went to Blackwoods for our weekly Thursday night dinner, we enjoyed eachothers company like usual. We started the night off with some drinks and dinner while listening to Charlie be the biggest dork ever. The boys decided to be real manly and order some martini's, which frightened our waitress and she thought they were kidding. (see picture below for proof) After dinner we picked up some drinks and headed to Tony's to play some Wii, which is always a blast with a few cocktails :) Trav joined us after a while and we called it a somewhat early night around 11:30.












Tonight Kiera and I are going to have dinner and catch up with eachothers lives. after all we haven't seen eachother since our movie date last month! And for the weekend, no plans so far for me. Might do some shopping in Duluth but that's about it. Have a great weekend!!! :)

One of Those Day’s

It’s amazing to me how a person can have such a great day one day then the next one will be one of their worst days ever! Today is “One of Those Day’s” not just for me either... There must be something in the air around Duluth/Two Harbors. Must be the weather and the fact that a person can’t do a whole lot outside this time of year… Summer is right around the corner RIGHT? I wish!! I don’t really have too much to blog about but I just wanted to say, if you are having “One of Those Day’s” don’t worry tomorrow is a new day and will hopefully be much better so hang in there!! :-)

Yearly shopping adventure!

This weekend Tara and I decided to take our yearly shopping trip… last year we went the exact same weekend and we decided last minute on Friday to go down on Saturday morning. We didn’t even realize it was the same weekend, so now we are making it a tradition! Anyways, we started off by hitting up Tanger Mall in North Branch and dropped a few $$ there. Following that was the best Burger King we have both ever had, weird thing is, there was not a single male working that day! No wonder it was so good and fresh! Haha Next we drove to Albertville which was also fun but we both are undecided if we’d go back, but yet we still bought a few bags full of stuff which contained my sweet new hat and Tara bought about 20 pairs of socks! :) Next we went to our Hotel that was right across from the MOA So of course we then got all dolled up, threw on some new clothes and were out the door in about 10 mins! We shopped until we about dropped, literally because my knee hurt from all the walking. We also managed to get lost in the MOA… but with a good explanation! So here it goes… we got so caught up in shopping we lost track of time and forgot that the mall closes at 9:30.. at 9:15 we went into Macy’s and checked every exit and could not find my car… we checked the mens department exit, no car! We checked the Shoes exit, no car! So we thought for sure it would be at the Accessories exit, no Car! We actually walked around checking the exits numerous times before we finally thought “Did we really park in Macy’s or Bloomingdales?” So here we are practically running through the mall because it is now 9:32 and all of the shops were closing their gates and we did not want to get locked out of Bloomingdale’s… Whew… We made it though and sure enough we were parked in the Accessories department!!

At that point all that we had on our mind was booze so we went to the Hotel to ask the front desk where the nearest liquor store is and they said that it was a ways away and that the shuttle would give us a ride! So sure enough we jumped on the shuttle and Doc was their to greet us and drive us! Well not really but this guy sure did look like him, minus the mad lab coat! Haha We made it there and back safely and then went and grabbed a bite to eat at TGIF's which was pretty good; except for the old blue cheese we were provided!!! YUCK! I didn’t know blue cheese was supposed to tingle when you ate it??!! After that we went back to the hotel for some well needed drinks, we had a pretty low key night consisting of looking at all my pictures on my laptop and watching this on TBS and some other wacked out movie that we did not finish! We crashed at about 2am and woke up at 8 to get ready to head home. We stopped and had some breakfast and a blast at Target (see pictures that follow) and that pretty much sums up our last minute shopping trip that I cannot wait to go on next year! Thanks babe!! :)

I’ve been slacking…

So I was told that I have been slacking in the wonderful world of blogging by Tony. So I agreed to let him pick my topic for this post, here goes nothing! “Top 10 things you wish you could buy (excluding houses and cars)” Hard topic, not only is he excluding cars and houses but he is making pick only 10 things, how do I even begin to put them in order! Haha


1. A new snowmobile would be first on my list considering I have cabin fever so bad lately.

Can you say BRRRRR....

Well I am a little bit sick of this cold weather! -11 this morning with -30 to -40 with the wind chill... yuck! I could surely go for some nice warm weather about now. But hey we are suppose to hit a high of 1 today so that's a plus, and even get into the double digits tomorrow a whopping 11 degrees, can't wait!

Well as for a ketchup on this week so far and my weekend, Kiera and I had a great date on Friday. Which included dinner at Grizzly's and seeing 27 dresses, I found my new love of my life James Marsden . Maybe not the love of my life but he is very cute! Then before, during and after the movie we laughed untiled our guts hurt, typical for us. I am so happy I have a friend like her :) Saturday involved a whole lot of being lazy and doing nothing, until Trav and I decided to go grocery shopping and have Tony over for dinner seeing that he was leaving Monday to go out of town. I made them tacos and we watched American Beauty. Sunday rolled around and I went to my parents to see the cutest little 3 year old I know. We ate some lunch and played puzzles until his dad came and picked him up.
This week started off ok for the most part. Tara and I enjoyed some dinner last night at Va Bene, which was delicious like always! And today is now Wednesday with no other exciting plans for the rest of the week. EXCEPT... Tony is coming home!!! So I'm sure we will have a huge party for him, or just eat pizza and play Guitar Hero :)

PT Sheet... kind of like a bed sheet!

Well today I started my physical therapy... I am going to therapy at Northstar Rehab & Sports Medicine in the Lakewalk Surgery Center. 'Rehab and Medicine' just the place I need to go! I was a little bit worried about going to therapy to be honest, I have heard bad stories of therapist being 'rough' with their patients and I am a wimp when it comes to being in pain. If I am in pain I don't want ANYONE to touch me! But luckily I have a great therapist who wasn't rough at all, she is very nice and is also willing to put in extra time to schedule visits with me on her time off, who does that?? Well anyways, I have 3 appointments scheduled for the next 2 weeks and she is going to call if any more open up. Trying to squeeze as many in before January 31st when my insurance changes to a high deductible plan, YUCK!

Tonight Kiera and I are going to have a girls night! YAY! I can't wait, it has been way too long since we have done something like this! First we are going to go have dinner, destination unknown, and then go see
27 Dresses perfect movie for a girls night out! As for the weekend I plan on cleaning the pig sty I am calling home, kind of hard to keep up with the cleaning, laundry, and not to mention cooking with a bum leg. Trav has provided me with some cuisine meals this week. Some of which including, frozen pizza and more frozen pizza and Chinese take out ;) What a good sport!

Back to work...

Well I am officially back to work now. I had knee surgery on Monday 1/7/08 and I am still recovering. I went in to have my knee cap released and came out with a torn ligament, and enlarged muscles behind the knee cap. I was on some sweet pain pills, until I realized I needed to come down from the high I was on and come back to work. Everyone has taken GREAT care of me, especially Trav who took 2 days off of work to be my servant. My mom has also taken great care of me when Trav has had to work. Not to mention my supporters TnT :) Thanks guys!
